Advice - Appointment
McGregor McMahon will in most instances be appointed in accordance with the terms of a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) produced by the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE). There are several versions of the PSA to suit a variety of contractual arrangements.
Our involvement in a project will generally begin with receipt of preliminary or planning drawings from an architect with a request to provide a fee proposal.
We review the architect’s drawings to assess the extent and complexity of the works and then prepare a project-specific proposal to cover the input required from us.
On large commercial projects a copy of the appropriate ACE Agreement will be prepared and signed by the client and ourselves. For domestic projects we include a brief summary of the relevant conditions of the agreement within our proposal.
When our fee proposal has been formally accepted we begin our design work.
